My decade-long friendship and collaboration with the dynamic duo over at Plexus Motion, Vijesh and Yashoda, editing on various series, motion graphics, music videos and animation projects, saw a new milestone this year when I signed up to edit their debut short film, a quirky, darkly comic thriller-noir “The Last Ride.”

The film, which is presented by the legendary filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival’s coveted Market Picks section.

The story follows migrant ride-share cab driver Aman, trying to survive one crazy night in the ‘maximum city’ of Mumbai, during which he grapples with family pressures, money problems, an oppressive boss, condescending cops, with a bit of the supernatural thrown into the mix – a demonic passenger.
